Very short term solution: Set wait cursor and block user interaction while
assigning tags.
Short term solution: Find out why a second drag solution has influence and the
other operation. This is currently unclear to me.
Do you use drag&drop and the tag sidebars, or do you use the metadata right
sidebar to assign tags? Probably the latter...

As a better solution, I would like to integrate this to Gilles' batch queue
manager work-in-progress.
