Yes and no, because not all files can be writted with metadata (some RAW format
for ex.)

The ultimate way is to have a tools to export all digiKam metadata into an XMP
sidecar file. This can be done in a future backup/restore tool. Still TODO

Note : Exiv2 0.18 can read/write now XMP sidecar files. So it will be easy to
implement.
