Sorry, but in application I know, Save, will just save without asking for confirmation. OO doesn't ask for confirmation, and many other application. If really you want to activate this feature, make it be configurable at least.
All theses popup begin to seriously annoy me. I'm sufficiently smarted to know what I'm doing. The right fix is IMHO versionning, however as this seems hard to implement, user should have the choice. It's like the trash/delete option in konqueror. Sometimes wants to directly delete the file and know what he's doing, so the user have the possible to activate direct delete and thus without warning
