I would agree on the benefits of using an RDF model in this case given the tight constraints of a traditional relational model. Unfortunately its not unlike using an OODBMS, not too many people are familiar with them and you sometimes get knee-jerk reactions.

I'd like to help with the RDF approach if/when it might get underway.
