As of digikam 0.9.2-final digikam does not rotate images, neither JPEGs nor CR2s, when beiing viewed using the image pop up menu->View. The thumbnails are rotated correctly, exiftool also displays the correct Orientation tag.

When I remember it correctly this worked before.
