I am using a USB internal 6 in one card reader with a 2 GB CF card...Click on Camera > media Browse and and the sub menu is empty...  I have to click on Camera > Media Browse a second time before the sub menu will correctly populate with the 4 following items...

2.0G removeable media  (my CF card)
Biggie_Size ( my 250 GB hard drive for Win xp) 
317 G media ( my HD for ubuntu) 
Floppy Drive

No problems with digikam or USB card operation after the sub menu is populated.
