Can you give more feedback? Since you're using mandriva maybe
it's a mandriva problem. But you said digikam crashes so please
add info maybe the backtrace. To have it a little bit more useful
install digikam-debug-0.8.2-1.rc1.3mdv2007.0.i586.rpm
from debug-main repository.
