       RPM Package: digikam-0.9.2-4mdv2007.1.src.rpm
Summary: UTF-8 errors with 5200 Nokia phone
           Product: Mandriva Linux
           Version: 2007.1
          Platform: i586
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: major
          Priority: normal
         Component: Core Packages
        AssignedTo: anaselli at mandriva.org
        ReportedBy: rpnpif at free.fr
         QAContact: bugs at mandrivalinux.org

Description of problem:
Errors are issued when reading memory of 5200 Nokia phone with UTF-8 files
names or directories names.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
0.9.2-4mdv2007.1 with 5200 Nokia phone in french language.
How reproducible:
always.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Connect 5200 Nokia phone to USB câble. On the phone, select printer and
multimedia mode.
2. On the PC, select "download photos with Digikam" in the popup menu.
3. After a short time, errors appears in Digikam (in french, my normal language
is french) :
"Impossible to analyse file in /store_00010001/Galerie/Thèmes". Note the
UTF-8 mistake for the word Thèmes.
Following errors for /store_00010001/Galerie/Icônes,
/store_00010001/Galerie/Fich. reçus and /store_00010001/Galerie/Clips
vidéo. Same problem when files have accented letters in their name in the
phone.
After these issues, transfers work fine.
4. Upload UTF-8 file name to the phone (example : forêt.jpg). This works fine
and reading this with the phone itself works fine.
5. Exit from Digikam. Disconnect the phone.
6. Reconnect the phone. Run Digikam. And now the utf-8 file (forêt.jpg) is
displaying as forèt.jpg and it is impossible to transfer to the PC.

In conclusion, It is impossible to work with UTF-8 file name from the phone (to
the phone is possible). The problem seems issuing from encoding in Digikam.
