Summary: In the albums, only show modification date if
                    modification date != creation date
           Product: digikam
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: digikam-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: bcr wt net

Version: 0.9.2-SVN (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

Since a large number of users are unlikely to edit their images once they've loaded them, its highly likely that the creation date will equal the modification date. Showing both dates beneath each image in this case is redundant, takes up more room, and makes it harder to distinguish the virgin images from the modified ones.

The album settings allows you to display either the creation date, modification date, or both. I would suggest another checkbox beside the modification date one:

 [x] Show creation date
[x] Show modification date [x] Only if different.

The 'Only if different' option should be checked by default as well.

Also, including the word "Show" as part of every checkbox label is also redundant. Create a group box labeled "Show data" and then put all the same checkboxes within it:

---Show data---------------------

  [x] File size
  [ ] File name
  [x] File creation date

etc...
