Summary: unable to browse /media/camera
Product: digikam
Version: 0.8.2
Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: digikam-devel kde org
ReportedBy: tedhansen sasktel net
Version: 0.8.2 (using KDE 3.5.5, Debian Package 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-1 (testing/unstable))
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16-2-686
When I plug in my Kodak V550 camera, KDE's USB Imaging Interface Daemon gives a choice to "upload photos to Digikam" which then opens Digikam. Digikam opens correctly with the "browse system:/media/camera" box open, however it then errors because it is unable to detect any picture files. This is because the files are not in "system:/media/camera" on this camera, they are in "system:/media/camera/store_00010001/DCIM/100KV550".
There is no way to browse to this subdirectory in digikam as the "browse system:/media/camera" dialog does not actually allow browsing, nor does there seem to be any way to set the Imaging Interface to open directly to this subdirectory.
Suggested solution: Have the "browse system:/media/camera" dialog box allow browsing and provide a setting for specifying a default path for system:/media/camera.
