Ok I'll try this. What KDE version do you use?  I have:

[krienke at bliss:~] 631 > rpm -qv kdebase3 qt
kdebase3-3.5.3-21.2
qt-4.1.0-29

The RPMS are from SuSEs Build service. Perhaps these non default packages are 
the problem?
