To have checked libPNG, i have not seen any size restriction with text chuck used to save Exif and IPTC byte-array.

About tiff file, the spectification do not said about any restrictions (look the url links annoted in Digikam::DImg::TiffLoader), but i'm not sure... Andreas, can you confirm this point ?
