Still seems to happen with digikam 0.8.1.

I've noticed something else which could be related:  trying to change a tag thumbnail (popup - Edit Tag Properties - Icon, select for example "Error", it is shown correctly in the properties dialogue.  Click "OK", the tag thumbnail does not change but more messages as above are displayed.  Open the tag properties again, the old icon is still there.
