Ok thanks. Can you investigate further:

- what system are you runnning this on (32 or 64bit)?
- can you recreate this with a standalone 'exiv2 -pt *.jpg'?
- is the crash related to specific images? 
- what cameras are the images from (what makernotes do they contain), all from Canon ixus?
