IMHO you should store info like USB ID/Vendor Id, or a value unique to each model because someone can have severals "Olympus C-2100UZ" ( or someone else with also a  "Olympus C-2100UZ" may come on your computer ) and your system will be confused. We'd better no report too false informations.
I don't have a USB camera to test, but IMHO you can find this info
