Confirmed with 0.8.2-beta1 on Kubuntu/Dapper _when_ the image is write
protected as given in debian bug:

 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=349450

Reproduce:

o chmod 444 image-with-exif-info.jpg
o load this image into IE
o Transform -> rotate 90 degree
o save it

==> rotated image is silently overriden, despite the 444 protection.
(silently == no err/info dialog, no output to console).   The exif info
is gone.
