[Digikam-devel] 0.8 branch

Hello,

Checkouted 0.8 branch and looks very, very impressive.

Unfortunately there are numerous glitches arising from almost complete
reworking of interface (and engines behind that).

I know you are officially not receiving bug reports for that branch but
first five items should be fixed even before merging with main tree. The
rest is just for company ;)

1. When started from Konsole all importing dialogs where hidden under 
Konsole.
   Only Alt-Tab was revealing them.

2. Last sentence in dialog about deleting of items from database should
   mention once again it is removal from database, not images itself.
   "Do you want to remove descriptions of these items from database?" NOT 
"Do
   you want delete these items?"
   Users are really reading (if anything...) only first and last sentence.

3. Not properly detected encoding and subsequently broken non-ASCII letters 
in
   comments.

4. After installation from sources new KIO-slaves weren't automatically
   registered at KCC and viewing of photos wasn't possible. Had to restart 
KDE
   just to be able to view protocols in KCC and check them for showing.

5. Why did you restricted access to digikam KIO-slaves? That was one of the
   greatest features of digiKam! Easy access to photo collection from any 
KDE
   app.

6. Default width of Tag filters on the right is too small. And increased 
one
   isn't remembered between start-ups.

7. Separate tag-event icons for months. Each month should have its own icon
   with number 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. Even better would be making distinctive
   colours for seasons:

   	- winter - blue
	- spring - green
	- summer - dark yellow (better contrast than plain yellow)
	- autumn - orange/brown

   Maybe task for kde-artists.org . I probably could came up with something
   but only in bitmap, not scalable format.

8. Possibility to view images in one big group, not separated by album.

9. In date search possibility to select images not only by week, but also 
by
   day of week (columns).

10. In search by date it is date of images but in header is date of album
   (without comment). That can be unsettling.

11. Filter from all tags (not only current view).

12. Aspect Ratio crop - detect orientation

13. Aspect Ratio crop - color of grid in config field white while on photo
	black.

14. No possibility to assign tag by drag'n'drop???
