i have patched libkexif to use the datetime original and datetime 
digitized in turn if the datetime entry is incorrect. after installing 
the new libkexif, you will have to remove the current digikam3.db and 
restart digikam so that the datetime is read in correctly (that is 
assuming you haven't been modifying-files/adding-comments-tags in digikam 
after a move to the svn version)
