Moving the thread to digikam-devel. Everything started with the
great work of tung available here:

Whow! You're merging/creating the icons yourself? Great.

Mhmm, so, can't we add both? I mean we install the standard icons in KDE
default icons dir and the nuvola folder+something icons in the folder
that is used when people switch their icon theme to nuvola. Then digikam looks
konsistant in at least 2 themes. (and your nuvola icon work is not 'lost')

You are the artits! I trust your taste. (I'm only the unpopular
is-the-license-free-aka-DSFG-guy ;)

<dreaming>
I know this is much to ask, but can you check what the other apps in
extragear use or have already? Maybe they have a good icon already
that we can use, and maybe share. One of my dreams is that every kde
extragear model has a lib module that contains also a icons subtree with
shareable icons like slideshow etc that are used by all extragear/graphics
applications. But of course we should first collect a good set of icons
for digikam ;)

Well, as I wrote already. The Creative Common License is considered
non-free. We're I define free here as defined by the DFSG:
	http://www.de.debian.org/social_contract.en.html#guidelines
According to
	http://people.debian.org/~evan/ccsummary
the CC licenses are classified non-free with respect to DSFG.

This simply means that debian and *ubuntu distribution have to remove
those icons or alternatively move the hole pkg to non-free or restricted
section, respectively. I don't know if these strict rules are
also applied to other debian based distros like kanotix, scolinux,
knoppix etc.

So I would be pleased if the new icons contain nothing based on
CC license work.

> Do not hesitate to ask me for additionnal informations.

thx. I'll do. But for now I shut up and you contentrate on your
icons.
