Hm, I'm not sure wether I would like to hide the original picture and (optionally) shows only the rethouched one.

Here, I'm using digiam as my picture manager (cataloque) which show all picture I have (not just picture taken by camera, but also pictures made via some graphical tool) just like Picasa. In my case showing only the retouched one would be non sense, I would never want it. Picture is a picture, and they cannot represented by  each other even though they came from the same source or just differ in the filenaming (IMHO). Okay, let's say I can turn this feature on or off, let'so to case number #2

Case #2. What would typical digikam users assume when he/she use digikam? Will they know that digikam will hide their original picture and shows them only the retouched one? This lead me into a question of what digikam purposes are and how we define digikam.

Tackle those issues above in a sensical manner (think about usability) and I will agree with the bug. Otherwise, vote-- :D
