Summary: single click to open image editor is really annoying
                    when tagging
           Product: digikam
           Version: 0.7.4
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: digikam-devel kde org
ReportedBy: jjm keelhaul demon co uk

Version: 0.7.4 (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
OS: Linux

It's following the standard KDE selection model, I know. But if using the application to organise lots of images by tagging, the single click to open the image editor is not so useful. I've been tagging a big collection of images by scrolling through the unsorted ones, selecting those that belong to a category, then doing <right click menu> - Assign Tag. However, it's too easy to click once on an image, get an unwanted imaged editor window, close it, start again (having lost the original selection)...

Using Ctrl selects images without opening the editor, obviously - but one problem with that is that the blank space between images is very narrow, need to click accurately here to make sure that any previous selection is cleared before starting on a new batch.

It would be nice if the open image editor action were configurable to single click, double click, or none (still available via popup menu).
