Summary: wish: ease selecting of pictures, i.e. make space around
images select them and only a click on an image open it
           Product: digikam
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: digikam-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: sven.burmeister gmx net

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
OS: Linux

If one wants to select some images with the mouse, this is quite hard, because nearly all space in the right pane is linked to opening pictures. One has to find a tiny spot inbetween the pictures which is not part of an image's frame to click and draw the frame to select pictures. It would be very useful, if selecting/opening pictures would work like in konqueror.

To open the picture one clicks on the picture/thumbnail. To select it, one clicks on its information, i.e. in digikam's case the white space around the thumbnail itself.

This way one could easily select images in the middle of the right pane by drawing a frame.
