Subject: New style selector in Calligra

Hello,

I am not sure it is the proper channel for this, but I'd like to present a bit something that has landed in Calligra master last Monday (16.01.12). It might (or might not) be of interest to you for the digest.
The feature (however it can be also regarded as a bug fix, since we normally are in feature freeze) is a new style selection widget.

This new widget is based on a QComboBox. It therefore shows the pretty standard behavior of a combo box in selecting a style from a list of the available styles. However, the style selection combo has a couple of additional features:
- firstly, the styles are previewed both in the drop down menu and in the combo itself. If the preview cannot fit, the font size is decreased until it fits, the real font size is displayed in that case.
- secondly, in the drop down menu, a button is shown on the item under the cursor. This button allows to call the style manager where style properties can be changed.
- thirdly, when a property of the selected style is modified in the text, a + button appears in the combo. Pressing on it will put the combo in edit mode where the user can enter the name of the new style that will be created based on the modified properties.

I have also made a blog post with some more details and screenshots.

If you are interested in putting this in the digest, feel free to either modify the text above (since it probably isn't fit for publishing as such) or tell me what I need to modify to render it digest compatible.

Thanks,

PierreSt
