regarding country settings for committers

I already have all the technical systems in place now to start collecting data again (try it @ http://commit-digest.org/data/), however a German research student contacted me a while ago about incorporating a survey (which I also did) - unfortunately, he is having delays getting things approved by his supervisors. However, he tells me he should be able to proceed soon.
I mention this because I feel it would be difficult to get people to fill things out twice, so if it is possible to wait before the big publicity, that would be ideal.

Anyone mind me trying to raise the visibilty of this? I can do some fishing around but I would like to have a blog post in a few weeks about where we stand and
the benefits of the broader stats. Anyone interested in doing a blog post?
