The reason for this is that checking the word count in a 300 page document takes a very serious amount of time, and if we're not allowing events to pass through and stop the counting operation the input suddenly stops being accepted, and it is extremely disruptive if that happens while you are writing. Having used this for some considerable time now, i can say there are no adverse side effects of it that i have been able to detect.

i was running Words in VTune while writing, and this operation came up as a heavy time user, which is why i put this in here... I'll remove it for the merge, as you say it's not really cool to have event processing in a library like this, but there is an actual bottleneck here that needs to be looked at, as it makes it fairly unpleasant to write from time to time... Perhaps it's simply that x that's an issue, or that the window isn't long enough to be allowed to actually have an effect... At any rate, needs to be looked at... at some point ;)

Hm, leftover code... It was, i think, a part of ensuring a lack of crashes in Gemini under certain conditions (basically, switching from document to document, and especially between document types). With that change removed, things are still working fine, no crashes, so that one's gone again.
