I think the vote should be public to everyone in the community and not secrete
as it seems to be now. That makes it much easier to get people to comment and
vote. When I look at my experience organising the sprint and asking peopole to
do something it is very hard even for simple things like updating a wiki page
and it needs pushing to get that done. So if first a mail to you needs to be
send to let people vote that that might be a to big barrier to get people to
vote. In my feeling we should also have a discussion about the names before we
decide on anything as otherwise we might want to rename it again in another 6
month as some new arguments against a new name will come up.
Did some new names come up at the sprint? If so what are those? There where
quite some people that noted changing the name again is not something we
should take lightly. Doing so now will introduce quite some new strings for
translators which need to be translated for the release.
That all said I'm personally against changing the name again. We had a
disussion about it and thought about a new name and Calligra Tables is what we
got as a result. Personally I don't see a problem with the name either it is
easy to say Calligra Tables and everything is quite clear. For the export of
what Jaroslaw said I think it would make sense to make the export mor generic
and say "Export to OpenDocument Spreadsheet" as that is what it does. It does
not export it to Calligra Tables. Also I don't think there is a to big
misunderstanding when you talk about tables in words that people will think
you are talking about Calligra Tables.
