What do you think is outside of the scope of the patch to fix? For me at least -After changing the setting it does not take effect should be fixed. And I wanted to test the behaviour in stage, flow to see if it works with different canvas implementations correctly.

I would have guessed that the mouse would mark the top left corner as place where it gets inserted. But that is only what I have expected. But using the center is fine too.
