That was my initial though.
But kde-open would serve slightly different purpose: it opens
associated application for detected mimetype.
What I propose is to have command that will open given mimetype with
calligra, no matter if openoffice or any other app is associated with
given mimetype. OO.org has it already as soffice command and I found
it *very useful* for daily use.

Also the kde-open usage would be a part of the KDE, while Calligra's
target is wider.

Even xdg-open would be only for XDG-supporting OSes.
