Fedora tray icon disappeared with 2.3.1?

I have now applied the KDE 4.4.4 updates, and rebuilt Amarok against
the installed kdelibs-4.4.4, without any change in behaviour.

There was one patch that while needed for 2.3.0, it shows as -R for
2.3.1, I doubt that's the problem.
