from a terminal, try:

"qdbus org.mpris.amarok" <- List dbus objects in amarok

"qdbus org.mpris.amarok /Player"  <- List methods on player object

"qdbus org.mpris.amarok /Player Pause" <- CAll method "Pause" on
player object hence pausing amarok
