On the first pass it was I/O bound, and it didn't there (this is a change from
master, which did peg the CPU the entire scan). On the subsequent passes, it
did peg the CPU, but there was relatively little disk access. Overall, I'd say
the changes are a huge improvement, so thanks for your work!
