i have no intend to do trolling.
i may have sounded rude, since i have the feeling, that some basics of
psychoacoustics are ignored in this discussion. i really want to keep
the discussion on a technical level. i am sorry, of someone got a bad
impression of my intentions ...
personally, i am both a user and a developer of audio software aimed to
professionals (audio synthesis, recording, mastering, spacialization
etc), where you cannot find anything else than a logarithmic scale for
representing volumes for psychoacoustic reasons ...

all i wanted was introducing two things:
- a logarithmic scale for the volume slider instead of a power law scale
- a well-defined and commonly used unit instead of `percent'.
