In case a bug-hunter finds this in the archives -
It's an alsa bug -https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=514213
The work-around is to edit /etc/pulse/default.pa,
change, ...
load-module module-hal-detect
to
load-module module-hal-detect tsched=0
kill off the existing pulseaudio daemon so it restarts and reads the config
update.
I'm on my fourth track now, without problems, so I guess this has sorted it.
Thanks for trying to help.
