Hi.
We have a few open bugs in Gentoo Bugzilla [1][2][3] after our update to
mysql and following the bump to amarok-2.0.2. Most of the issues
reported apply to 2.0.2 and 2.0.90.

Most of the bug reports are about the run-time behavior of both
amarok-2.0.2 and amarok-2.0.90 with our updated mysql that builds
libmysqld as a shared lib. If the user doesn't have a local mysql
database in ~/.${KDEDIR}/share/apps/amarok/mysqle/amarok, amarok starts
and is able to play music, but if the user tries to rescan the
collection or add files to it, the process shows up the progress bar,
but won't add files to the collection and won't create the database. If
the database exists, amarok crashes [4] when starting. This issue
doesn't appear for those using --as-needed.

The work on our patch for mysql was documented on a bug [5] in our
Bugzilla. The patches for mysq-5.0.76 [6] and mysql-community-5.0.77 [7]
can be found in our overlay for mysql-patches [8].

What can we do to troubleshoot this and to solve this crash? Let me know
of any testing you may require.
