What is the number (UFID?) on each music cd?

You mean 2.3, I assume?

eyeD3 is a python utility that allows you to see and edit ID3 frame
information from the command line.  Most distributions have a package of
it, as eyeD3 or eyed3.  I believe it gives you access to all possible
ID3 frames.

A lot of people also like the program picard.
