Question about sound system on Kubuntu 8.04 with KDE 4.1.2

Hello,

since I have my new notebook, a HP Pavillon Entertainment PC, I cannot 
play sounds in Amarok anymore. Wether in version 1.4.x nor in the 
currently beta versions.

If i use mplayer, I can listen to sounds.

In version 1.4.x I've tried to activate Pulse audio, but drivers were 
not found.

How can I get Amarok back running sounds on my system?
