Using mplayer codecs to play aiff files

Hi Elko,

Thanks for the tip. I tried installing the package you suggested, but it
failed due to a clash in the package manager due to - I think - my having
both kde 3.5 and 4.1 on my machine.

To make things simpler 'd like to remove kde 3.5 completely and use the
version of amarok from Kubuntu for kde 4.1. Unfortunately, my settings for
the old amarok live in .kde/share/apps/amarok and the naiive approach of
just copying this folder over to .kde4/share/apps/amarok doesn't work (the
error messages seem to indicate that the database schema has changed).

Is there an easy way to copy the settings from the kde 3.5 amarok to the kde
4..1 one?

Thanks,

Jens
