Using mplayer codecs to play aiff files

Sorry if this isn't the correct place to ask this, but do you happen to know
what packages are required under Ubuntu to install the correct codecs?

I've got amarok-xine, libxine1 and libxine1-ffmpeg installed and I'd have
thought that the aiff codec would be in there somewhere?
