better visualization control?

I found some dcop settings here: http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/DCOP_Functions

But didn't see anything relating to visualizations.  Which makes me 
wonder, why did the amarok team even include the visualization support 
as it is?  Why bother?  It's pretty much useless without any ways to 
configure it or bring it up automatically.
