i wrote up that blurb in a few minutes to get my thoughts out, so it is not
final.
if someone is actually interested in doing it they can come talk to me on IRC
and we can work out the exact details---i dont know what the artist might
have planned.

yes, this is very possible. an applet can just choose what data it wants from
the dataengines, it will only get a specific subset.
