I've had some issues with amarok (and kde keybindings in general) in KDE 4.1 
in Intrepid. Sometimes I have to unset the keybindings, log out, log in, and 
reset them to get them to stick across sessions. You could also try restarting 
the khotkeys service (System Settings -> Advanced -> Services -> Stop and 
Start the KHotKeys service in the lower half).
