Genre, Metadata editing, Amarok, Ex Falso

Like many of us, I have an extensive audio collection. Most of mine is Old
Time Radio, but I also rip all my CDs, and even old vinyl will soon all be
added. So, I've been spending some time figuring out how to edit metadata on
my files, specifically, genre.

I started by looking for a way to edit the data in Amarok, and it's certainly
possible to do that, by editing the track information - one at a time - which
is certainly time consuming.

What I managed to find to do this is Ex Falso, which comes as an audio plugin
for Quod Libet, another Linux Audio Player. I just downloaded and installed,
from the openSUSE 11.0 repositories both Quod Libet and Quod Libet plugins.

Now, I find Ex Falso in the Audio Media Editors, and I can change any of the
metadata in all the files in a directory at once - what a time saver!

I'm not planning to change my audio player from Amarok, but thought others
might like to know about this useful utility.
