Yeah that's something the author intended: he even states as much on the
spec page (http://www.galago-project.org/specs/notification/): "The
desktop notification specification is a proposed specification for
freedesktop.org ...."

I'll maybe see where he is with this as it would be really nice to see
it accepted and maintained by FDO.
