Oxygen Icons

I just read the article on the planet about amarok2 and Icon themes:

and i just wondered, why amarok wants new icons. I can understand the point 
that amarok and kde have different release cycles and so amarok must ship 
some icons which kde doesn't have.

But what about this:
The amarok teams asks kindly the oxygen team for icons for amarok. Hopefully 
the oxygen team will produce something and ship them right direct into kde.

Why not fill this icons into the icon theme? Perhaps they could be of use in 
other applications as well.
Ok if we have a new feature we have to make icons (but we can ask oxygen team 
here again) and ship them with amarok.
But we have at the moment lots of icons that can be integrated into oxygen.
