well, oggs and flacs support this, so i have heard.

(from wikipedia, so no idea how correct this information is :) )

that's a separate question, i believe. getting it right might not be 
easy, but highly rewarding.

if a decision is made to implement this, i'm sure usability experts will 
attack in hordes ;)
