Crossfade effect for GStreamer

The following amarok related project was created on Cofundos.org (a platform for describing open-source project ideas and pooling resources for their implementation):

Project description: A lot of applications nowdays use the GStreamer[1] library for media playback. A crossfade effect is still missing. Audio players like for example rhythmbox[2], amarok[3] and quodlibet[4] could greatly benefit from this feature as some bug reports show [5,6].

The aim of this project is a well working crossfade effect functionality which must be shipped with the standard GStreamer Distribution. There is some work done already but nobody is currenly workig on it. [7]
