iRiver IFP support has been in Amarok for a while :) From the README:

    * libifp 1.0.0.2
      (iRiver iFP support)
      http://ifp-driver.sourceforge.net/libifp/

If your distribution does not ship Amarok with this plugin, download the 
latest Amarok (1.4.4) and libifp, and then build Amarok.
