easytag may fill in the vorbis comments *and* write an id3 tag, I am not sure.  
It seems lots of taggers do this.  It's the presence of the id3 tag that 
seems to trip up xine, not wether the vorbis comments are filled in.  I will 
test this a bit this weekend.
