Compilation error regarding xine

$ xine-config --version
1.0.0

Strange.  I swear it came from a compile of xine-lib-1.1.1.tar.gz...  I 
definitely did not use an RPM though.

In any case, am I forced to (really) upgrade to xine 1.1.1?
