Great analysis, Mr. Byfield! As a happy user of Amarok, I can only
agree with your conclusions. And I'm pleased that you used a current
version of Amarok for your comparison.
I would like to offer some information -- Amarok 2.3.1 does allow the
customization of playlist elements. Playlist > Playlist Layouts >
Configure Playlist Layouts. One can get very precise, although I just
use the default.
Also, transcoding is coming; we have a student doing that for Google
Summer of Code.
